The Reign of John II Komnenos: Every Month (1118 - 1143)
🌎 John II Komnenos inherited a recovering Roman Empire thanks to the tireless efforts of his father Alexios, who had persevered against the odds and restabilized the situation during his long reign. Through perhaps even more cunning domestic policies and an extremely robust expansion strategy, John would take this Empire and raise it back to magnificence; for this, though he was not the most ambitious of the Komnenian emperors, he can be considered the greatest. Witness how John defeated many of his rivals and reasserted Roman dominance in the Balkans and Anatolia in this video! 📷 Be sure to watch this video in 4K and on a large screen if possible! Many labels are very small and will be difficult to see at a lower resolution. 💠I took inspiration from ‪@KheyPard‬ 's "The History of the Roman Civilisation: Every Month" for the date cards, it's an amazing video and I recommend you watch it:    • The History of the Romans: Every Month  .
