Tearing Off The Top of My Engine! | BMW 2000 740i SPORT E38 | Project Carlsbad Pt5

Welcome to Episode #5 of Project Carlsbad! Today, we tear into the top of the engine. Finally! We start by removing the air intake, fuel rail, various vacuum system and electrical harness bits and pieces, until we can take off the intake manifold. Once that's all out, we remove the Heater Control Valve/Auxiliary Pump assembly and finally the accumulator and valley pan. Once we get that all done I decided to go ahead and do the timing chain guides, so I need to order some parts. In the mean time, we refurbish the Heater Control Valves with new seals and plungers and replace the seized Auxiliary Pump with another one, and then replace the brushes in an old Aux Pump so we have a backup.
