Smoky Lake Maple Filter Press - 7" Short Bank Stainless Steel - How To and Review

In this video you will learn the basics of operating the 7" short bank stainless steel filter press manufactured by Smoky Lake Maple Products. This filter press filters pure maple syrup prior to bottling the syrup. The result is a crystal clear syrup that has a "polished" appearance which makes it ideal for bottling in glass. This method is faster and easier than flat/gravity/cone filtering. The unit is extremely well-made and is all stainless steel, which is food grade. Flower City Maple is currently running 180 taps. This press is perfect for small producers and can easily handle small batches of 3 gallons. I filtered a 4 gallon batch in this video and have done as much as 9 gallons before cleaning. It can most likely do more than 9 gallons. Just take it down and clean if it becomes too difficult to pump hot syrup through the press.
