Bronx Zoo, New York City, US

📍 Bronx Zoo, New York City We visited the Bronx Zoo at the beginning of July during an intense heat wave, with temperatures climbing above 37°C (99°F). Because of the extreme heat, many of the animals we were hoping to see, including the tigers and red pandas, were staying out of sight. Even so, the Monorail was absolutely worth it. It was comfortable, offered great views, and made exploring the zoo much easier on such a hot day. I think visiting in the fall or winter would be an even better experience, as the cooler weather would likely make many more animals active. One thing that really stood out was how well American zoos are maintained. I had the same impression at Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. The overall cleanliness, facilities, and habitat management deserve a lot of credit. If you’re visiting New York City and enjoy wildlife, the Bronx Zoo is definitely worth adding to your itinerary. Just try to avoid visiting during a summer heat wave! 01:38: Monorail 05:08: Congo Gorilla Forest 06:48: Gorilla 08:27: Children's Zoo
