Lexus NX. Dodge maneuver. Let's go with the first pass. The one that makes you scare or die. In this case, understeer. I entered the test 1 km/h (4.8 mph) above the target speed of 77 km/h (48 mph), and the NX slid to the outside as I moved through the second aisle, making it impossible to steer into the third and final lane. This is the best of all the attempts. The entry speed is 75 km/h (45 mph), rather low. But the most striking thing here is the exit speed, only 25 km/h (15.5 mph). The stability control slowed the NX down significantly as it reached the final turn. As a reference, I'm going to use the Honda HR-V, which started at 74 km/h (46 mph), reached 57 km/h (the Lexus does it at 64 km/h) halfway through the test, and finished at 38 km/h (25 mph), well above the 25 km/h (15.5 mph). The NX's natural reaction to excessive speed or excessive steering input is the same as any car: understeer. In our attempts at higher speeds, we either experienced understeer or hit a cone when trying to steer more gently to avoid it. In no instance did we experience sudden oversteer or bounce.
