I change out my oem mercury single factory exhaust system to oem factory dual exhaust form an older mercury grand marquis (I believe an 02 or 03). I also had the shop remove or delete the 2 rear catalytic converters for better flow and sound. I Love it. the car feels like it woke up, it feels lighter on its feet, and has a nicer sound and not loud rumble to it. You can perform the same upgrade on the Ford Crown Victoria, and I'm pretty sure on the Lincoln Town Car. . You can achieve this DIY project with some simple tools and parts, I believe in you!
