Classic Supercell Structure with EF-1 Tornado in SW Ontario - June 25th, 2026

A bit of a sleeper day for storms on Thursday June 25th, 2026. My favourite kind of chase day with isolated supercells in an area in Ontario with solid road network and great visibility. All severe hazards were in play from large hail to tornadoes. A storm formed just on the Canada/USA border near the Sarnia, Ontario area and quickly exhibited supercellular characteristics. A tornado warning was issued over an hour before the storm really got its act together and produced a tornado west and south of Glencoe, ON. I managed to just capture the tornado later after initial touchdown just as it began to get wrapped in rain. Only minutes earlier it looked like it was going to produce but I was too close to the rotating meso and bailed south and east to reposition, only for the tornado to drop seconds later. Damage was reported and the tornado was preliminary rated an EF-0.
