Furthermore, the lack of a proper method to fundamentally prevent such fraud has been pointed out as a problem. If caught using the Climate Partnership Card fraudulently, a surcharge equivalent to 30 times the normal fare will be imposed, just like for regular fraudulent use. To reduce fraudulent use, the corporation plans to add a voice announcement saying "Youth Discount" to the existing "beep beep" sound when tapping the Climate Partnership Card at a subway gate. The system will be piloted at select stations until July and then expanded to all subway stations in Seoul. We also decided to continue to propose an amendment to the Railway Business Act that would increase the additional fare for illegal boarding from 30 times the current fare to 50 times. We also plan to provide incentives, such as bonus points for employees with excellent enforcement performance when selecting trainees for training.
