Ride to Pokhara from Kathmandu | Epic Highway Journey | Hydro Power Visit | Unexpected Rain Adventure 🌧️🏍️ Our journey to Pokhara started early from Kathmandu, riding through the busy roads of Kalanki, heading towards Dhading, Muglin, and Damauli before finally reaching beautiful Pokhara. This ride was full of adventure, scenic views, and unexpected moments! As we crossed Kalanki, the traffic was heavy as usual, but once we passed Thankot and moved towards Dhading, the ride became more enjoyable with winding roads and stunning hill landscapes. The Prithvi Highway stretch towards Muglin offered breathtaking river views alongside the Trishuli River. However, road conditions were mixed — some sections were freshly blacktopped and smooth, while others had ongoing construction, dusty patches, and a few rough off-road segments, especially near Muglin and Damauli. On the way, we met a passionate group of bike riders from India who were also heading towards Pokhara. The energy was amazing! We even had some friendly pulls and short highway races on open stretches (safely and responsibly), making the ride even more exciting. One of the highlights of this trip was exploring one of the new hydropower projects near Damauli. It was impressive to see Nepal’s growing infrastructure and development up close. The massive tunnels, flowing water systems, and engineering work were truly fascinating. As we continued towards Pokhara, the weather suddenly changed. Rain started pouring in the evening, slowing us down and making the roads slippery. Because of the rain and traffic, we reached Pokhara later than planned — but riding into the city lights with cool weather and fresh rain vibes made it totally worth it. This ride had everything — adventure, beautiful highways, rough patches, biker brotherhood, hydropower exploration, rain challenges, and finally the peaceful arrival in Pokhara If you love bike rides, highway adventures, and exploring Nepal, this one’s for you!
