In 1982 he released his first solo album, "Cena de cinema". Composer of major hits such as “Me chama”, “Vida bandida”, “Rádio Blá”, “Decadence avec elegance”, “Vida louca vida” and “Corações psicodélicos”, in 1999 he decided to self-release the album “A vida é doce”, which, sold at newsstands throughout Brazil, reached the position of second best-selling album of his career. From 2003 to 2008 he edited the magazine OutraCoisa, which in each edition featured a CD by an independent musician. In 2007 he released the CD and DVD Acústico MTV, which earned him the Grammy for Best Rock Album.
