Turn Your Head (Neon Genesis Evangelion / Asuka Langley Soryu AMV)

[EXTREME FLASHING WARNING, ESPECIALLY FOR 2:37-2:48] "So look at me!" I wanted to try my hand at making an Asuka character profile, and I also wanted to try learning Final Cut Pro. This video is the result! This was a really fun project to work on, if difficult at times due to a certain creative choice I made (which I won’t spoil here). 'Evita!' is a song that feels quite contradictory to me - it seems provocative and flirty and angry and lonely all at once. When I listened to it after watching Evangelion for the second time, I thought it might make for an interesting project exploring different facets of Asuka. I did my best to make the video’s style fairly "Eva-ish" as well, and I think I mostly succeeded.
