2025 Suzuki e Vitara Test? Erste Testfahrt mit Prototypen! Technische Daten | Electric Drive Check

So here it is, the Suzuki e VITARA – the Japanese manufacturer's first fully electric production model, which, by the way, won't roll off the production line in Japan. The compact B-SUV will launch in Germany in the fall of 2025 and will be built at the Gujarat plant in India. With two battery sizes, optional all-wheel drive, and a range of up to 428 kilometers, the Suzuki e VITARA promises an attractive entry into electric mobility. Although we have almost all the technical specifications for you today, unfortunately, no information on pricing yet. With a length of 4.28 meters, a width of 1.80 meters, and a height of 1.64 meters, the Suzuki e VITARA is compact yet spacious. The wheelbase of 2.70 meters ensures generous interior space, which is further optimized by a sliding rear seat. Ground clearance is 180 mm, and the turning circle is 10.4 meters. The basis is the new "HEARTECT-e" platform, developed specifically for electric vehicles, which impresses with its lightweight construction and structural protection for the high-voltage battery. Looking at the competitors in this segment, we would certainly have to mention the KIA EV3, the Peugeot E-2008, the Opel Mokka Electric, or even the smart #1. There are three drivetrain variants to choose from: Let's start with the base model with a 49 kWh battery and front-wheel drive (2WD): The electric motor produces 106 kW (144 hp) and offers a maximum torque of 193 Nm. This enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 km/h. The combined range is stated as 345-346 kilometers. Want more? No problem, then choose the 61 kWh version with front-wheel drive (2WD): Here, a 128 kW (174 hp) electric motor provides propulsion. In this variant, the maximum torque remains at 193 Nm. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 8.7 seconds, the top speed remains at 150 km/h, the range increases to 428 kilometers in the WLTP cycle, and the combined fuel consumption is stated at 15.0 kWh / 100 km. But if we're honest, when we think of Suzuki, we also think of all-wheel drive vehicles, don't we? Of course, the Suzuki e Vitara has one too. The all-wheel drive version "ALLGRIP-e" with a 61 kWh battery combines two electric motors: one with 128 kW (front) and one with 48 kW (rear), resulting in a system output of 135 kW (183 hp) and a torque of 307 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds, top speed remains at 150 km/h, fuel consumption increases to 15.6-16.5 kWh per 100 km, and the maximum range drops to 396-412 kilometers. Regenerative braking can be adjusted to three levels – currently only when stationary. Depending on the selected engine and equipment, combined energy consumption is between 14.8 and 16.5 kWh per 100 kilometers, depending on the version. However, the thermal management system, including a heat pump, seat and steering wheel heating, and pre-conditioned interior, ensures efficient energy handling and optimized charging performance for everyday use. The battery can also be manually heated to the right temperature. The DC charging capacity is specified at 90 kW, and it charges at 11 kW when using AC. The "Suzuki Connect" app allows convenient smartphone control of the charging status and charging schedule. An ideal vehicle for those who charge at home or at work and rarely use public fast-charging stations, as charging from 10% to 80% takes approximately 45 minutes. Depending on the rear seat position and equipment, the Suzuki e VITARA offers a flexible cargo compartment. While exact liter figures for the trunk are not yet available, the rear seat backrest, which can be moved and folded down by 16 cm (40/20/40), ensures high versatility. Practical: Despite its electric nature, the e VITARA can tow a braked trailer load of up to 750 kilograms; we still lack information on the tongue and roof load. Under the body, proven components: MacPherson struts at the front, multi-link rear axle. In addition to regenerative braking, ventilated disc brakes on the front and rear axles provide the necessary deceleration. The Suzuki e Vitara rolls off the assembly line with either 225/55 R18 or 225/50 R19 tires. It weighs between 1,700 and 1,899 kg when empty, and the gross vehicle weight varies between 2,180 and 2,360 kg.
