While Power Rangers does take footage from Japan’s Super Sentai, sometimes to mix it up and add some spice, the production teams of Power Rangers would make an additional Ranger exclusive to the American show, to either become a pilot for a zord or give some variation to the original suits. But making a new suit is hard, gotta have the Morpher, weapons and so much new material, but you know what’s easier? A drawing…probably?
