Honda Element Check Engine Light Codes P2646 and P2647- Variable Valve Timing

Toaster Entry #20: I keep having this issue where the car goes into limp mode, after heavy rains. The codes I get are P2646 and P2647 - codes related to the variable valve timing solenoid.
