While traveling up the neck might look a little scary at first, I promise this tune is full of useful patterns that you can apply to all sorts of songs. We’ll start by mastering the high part (Part A) using forward-reverse rolls and some "split positions" at the 12th, 10th, and 7th frets. I also show you a variation for the second time through the A part that incorporates the fifth string to give it a fuller sound. Then, we’ll move to the low part (Part B), which uses a familiar kickoff you might recognize from "The Ballad of Jed Clampett." We’ll cover the chord changes through C and D7 and wrap it all up with a full demo so you can hear how the high and low sections fit together.
