Last Days of the D60HFs :(

Well I'm back, again... Just recently, at the end of March, the last D60HFs finally retired after a good 23 years of serving the MTA. They lasted from 1996 to 2019, and the last batch of them (the 2002-2003 D60s) lasted 16-17 years in service. While such an impressive bus, the RTS still outlasted them. The last four (117, 118, 127, and 5659) retired out of Kingsbridge, which was the very first depot they debuted at. These were all the batches of D60HFs constructed, seeing service on routes like the M15 and M86 back in the day, to routes in Bronx like the Bx19 and Bx12, and finally running all the way out in Queens on the Q10 pre-2016. 1996-1998 New Flyer D60HFs (1000-1109, 5250-5251) -first batch of D60s, most constructed in 1997, saw service from 1996-2011, first saw service out of KB 1999-2000 New Flyer D60HFs (5252-5509) -second batch of D60s, many units renumbered between 2012-2015 when newer LFSAs took their numbers, lasted from 1999-2017 2002-2003 New Flyer D60HFs (5510-5769) -the third and final batch of D60s for transit, many units renumbered in 2018 due to the 2018-2019 LFSA taking their numbers, lasted from 2002-2019 (very recently as April) P.S.
