Pino Cantatore recounts his rebirth: how two life sentences can lead to a new beginning, rediscovering oneself and finding new meaning in one's life. In this moving TED Talk, he shares how a criminal past, marked by mistakes and illusions, became the foundation for building a concrete social reality that restores dignity, work, and hope to those living in prison. Sentenced to life in prison in 1993, he found the strength from prison to return to study computer science and, in the early 2000s, founded a call center in San Vittore, providing work and hope for recovery for many inmates. In 2013, upon his release, he founded and directs Bee4. altre menti, the first social enterprise within the Bollate prison (Milan), which promotes the valorization of inmate labor and employs 170 people.
