On the night of March 2nd, 2020 Putnam County went to bed thinking the worst weather was heading North. Friends and neighbors in Nashville would likely deal with damage from the storm. But in the dark of night, quiet on the plateau turned to chaos. Just two miles of Cookeville Regional Medical Center and Tennessee Tech University an EF-4 tornado, the most powerful in Tennessee history had Putnam county in its sites. In what seemed like an instant, 19 people would lose their lives and hundreds more their homes. Serving as the region's only broadcast television station, WCTE PBS was on the scene only hours after the tornado lifted up. This documentary captures all that took place to pull hope out of the rubble and brings to life the stories of survivors, officials, first responders as well as volunteers and beloved members of the residents of Putnam County and beyond.
