Die My Love | A Miserable, Self-Important Waste of Time Jennifer Lawrence leads Die My Love — a bleak, pretentious adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s novel, directed by Lynne Ramsay. Despite strong cinematography and an impressive supporting cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Sissy Spacek, and Nick Nolte, the film sinks under its own weight. Grace’s descent into postpartum depression and madness is shot beautifully but told with frustrating detachment. The story feels more like a string of strange, disconnected moments than a genuine psychological journey. By the end, it’s not clear what’s real, what’s imagined, or — more importantly — why we should care. I certainly didn't.
