Le tableau que personne ne comprend vraiment
Gustave Moreau worked on this painting for over seven years. When it was exhibited at the Salon of 1876, it immediately provoked both unease and fascination. And it's easy to see why... In a palace saturated with gold and symbols, a biblical scene becomes almost surreal: time seems suspended, the figures frozen, and its meaning impossible to grasp. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this painting in the comments!
