One way to get to La Paz (Bolivia) from Puno (PERU) by land is by crossing the Yunguyo border via the Copacabana route. How to get from Puno to La Paz? 1. Head to the Puno South Terminal, from there take the minibuses that go to Yunguyo. 2. Upon arriving at the Yunguyo terminal, take a motorcycle taxi to the border. Cost: S/5.00 – Time: Approx. 5 minutes 3. Upon arriving at the border, go to the Peruvian immigration office to register your departure from the country. On this street, you will find several stalls and exchange offices where you can change your money from soles to bolivianos. 4. Continue walking and cross the border arch. Then, head to the Bolivian immigration offices to register your entry into the country. • Peruvians can enter only with their DNI. 5. A few meters from the Immigration office, we will find vans that go to Copacabana. (Take time: approximately 10 minutes) – Cost: 4 bolivianos • Upon arriving in Copacabana, if you have time, you can visit its various tourist attractions. 6. From Copacabana, we will take the buses that go to La Paz. (Take time: approximately 4 hours) On the way, we will pass through San Pedro de Tiquina, where passengers get off the bus to cross Lake Titicaca by boat. Then, we will return to the bus to continue the journey to the La Paz bus terminal. 7. From the La Paz bus terminal, we can take a taxi to Plaza Murillo.
