Latte, filiera e territorio: Luigi Forte rilancia la sfida della sinergia tra gli agricoltori
On World Milk Day, a meeting sponsored by Agricole Forte was held at Ca' Vendramin, dedicated to the future of Italian livestock farming and dairy production. Among the event's keynote speakers, Luigi Forte emphasized the importance of building relationships and networking among all stakeholders in the supply chain, from farmers to processors, including industry professionals. "Creating synergy means creating relationships, history, and the storytelling of food, from the field to what the animal eats, all the way to the product that reaches consumers' tables," Forte explained. This concept was also reiterated by the presence of speakers from across Italy, including freelancers, farmers, and representatives of the PDO and PGI supply chains. At the heart of the discussion was the value of food as a cultural heritage and a tool for promoting health. According to Forte, agriculture can once again become one of the driving forces of the national economy. "The primary supply chain, by definition, is the most powerful. We must enhance it and communicate it better," he stated. Particular attention was paid to the dairy sector. Today, approximately 50% of the milk produced is transformed into PDO cheeses, products that are achieving significant results on international markets. This success is linked not only to the quality of production, but also to marketing and communication skills. "We must continue to work with farmers to reduce the competitive gap with countries that have lower production costs but lower quality," he added. Looking at the Polesine area, Forte identifies the transformation of agricultural products as a potential key to increasing farm income. In particular, he highlighted the value of alfalfa and the Polesine area, included in the UNESCO Po Delta Biosphere Reserve. "Our true added value is the territory. We must let the world know where and how we produce," he explained. Finally, he appealed to local farmers to be more open to discussion. "We are often more appreciated abroad than at home. Farmers tend to complain, but they rarely participate in moments of sharing. We must step outside our farms, listen, discuss, and build the future of agriculture together,” Forte concluded. A clear message that focuses on collaboration, the valorization of local excellence, and the ability to work together to address the challenges of global markets. #WorldMilkDay #Agriculture #Polesine #AgrifoodSupplyChain
