Die fremden Geschwister - Russlanddeutsche Baptisten (Doku 1981)

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, numerous "Russian Germans" came to the West. Many quickly integrated into everyday life and live spread throughout Germany. In addition to Russian, most are fluent in German. Maintaining their native language was one of the strict requirements, especially for older people, as was the conservative practice of Christian values. This often led to conflicts with the Russian authorities. The willingness of many resettlers to adapt to the realities of everyday church life in their new homeland was limited. Living their faith as it is customary in local congregations is difficult. The documentation by Bert P. Herfen and Claus Ulrich Heinke shows why this was the case and, to a large extent, still is today.
