ScienceSmilesShorts in this video demonstrates a laboratory experiment on turmeric why it is boiled in post harvest. Raw turmeric is picked from the soil as a harvest practice. The turmeric fingers are then subjected to boiling in the field. An experiment is done in the laboratory to show the changes that emerge as a boiling effect in turmeric. The curcuminoids namely the curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bis demethoxycurcumin get distributed into sorrounding starch by boiling. This is shown as such and as slices as a demonstration.
