Portal 2 Hammer | How to make a Core

In this video, I go over how to make a core, make it talk, move, detach from the rail, and several other things. Feel free to leave suggestions for more topics to make a tutorial on in the comments (although larger topics such as aesthetics will take much longer). This video does NOT explain how to make custom cores, e.g. Virgil from Portal Stories Mel. Creating custom cores is a completely different topic and is far more complex than what's done in the video. Custom cores should only be attempted by experienced developers, it is not something you can start with. Common problems: If voice lines don't work, double check that the core uses the one of the names I show at the start. If the core is rotated at a strange angle, make sure you don't rotate the core and the tracktrain, they are meant to remain at the default rotation in hammer.
