Chevy had brand new styling this year, and essentially kept the basics through the 1954 model! It was a startling change from the prewar based 1948 model. For us, it appeared quite "modern" The fenders were disappearing as separate components that were bolted on. Running boards were long gone, with an increase in interior width. Automatic transmissions were starting to become more common, although it wasn't offered on this car...but was offered on the 1950 model.
