Tim Arnold "The Soho Hobo" - The Piccadilly Trot (Official Video)

What you see is extraordinary ordinary people who answered the call of Tim Arnold out of the goodness of their hearts to celebrate and join the community of Central London. Long before Londoners were doing The Lambeth Walk, they paraded around Piccadilly according to this delightful number by the Queen of the Music Halls, Marie Lloyd. The song itself, from that period just before WW1, refers to the ragtime style which was very much in vogue in 1912. The little digs at America were a bit of a feature of British music hall numbers, and the magnificent Marie was certainly fiercely loyal. 102 years later, Tim reboots the song to celebrate his beloved West End of London in 2014, it's first ever re-release with ska/reggae influences and a nod to the music of Madness and The Specials. Please share what is an historical event and tribute to British Music Hall and the magical world of Central London. Join this artist: https://linktr.ee/timarnold © TA Music 2014
