The Peaceful Revolution of 1989/90 fundamentally changed the lives of people in Saxony. Demonstrations by large segments of the population gave rise to new political forces, such as the Group of 20 in Dresden. From October 1989 onward, the SED, the ruling party of the GDR, lost influence and power. The film tells the story of these events in selected towns and regions of Saxony: Dresden, Plauen, Leipzig, and Delitzsch, as well as Großhennersdorf and Zittau in Upper Lusatia, and Bad Schlema and Aue in the Ore Mountains. The Peaceful Revolution in the GDR resulted in German reunification.
