For this special edition of Reality Check, Hosted by Thembekile Mrototo, we explore the French Economist’ Professor Gabriel Zucman’s proposal to increase tax for the world’s super-wealthy, as a tool to help solve the growing global issues of poverty and inequality. This episode is Co-Hosted by Ben Cashdan, the Executive Director of The Black Stripe Foundation. Guests include Lebo Ramafoko, Executive Director of Oxfam South Africa and Zimbali Mncube, a Tax and Budget Policy Researcher at the Institute for Economic Justice (IEJ) - giving a South African perspective on the discussion. The Zucman report was commissioned by Oxfam as part of its G20 strategy, to engage governments internationally on strategies to address growing inequality.
