Por qué reventé en un 10K buscando el sub 35: 10K Nocturna Albacete 2026
Why can you burn out in a 10K even if the plan seems right? What happens when you start too ambitiously, your heart rate spikes early, and your body can't maintain the target pace? In this video, I analyze my Albacete Night 10K, a race where the goal was to pass the 5K mark around 17:30 and try to achieve a time close to sub-35. The first half went as planned on the clock, but not in terms of how I felt: from the first kilometer, I noticed a dry mouth, an excessively high heart rate, and a strange internal sensation. The result was clear: 17:30 for the first 5K, close to 19 minutes for the second, and a race far from my goal. In this analysis, I explain what I think went wrong: too aggressive a start, high temperatures for a fast race, the 10:00 PM start time, a possible lingering stomach bug, and a poor assessment of the situation. I also talk about an important idea for any runner: there's a difference between taking risks and ignoring your body's signals. You have to suffer in a 10K, but if you're practically at your maximum effort by kilometer 2, you're probably not being brave: you're setting yourself up for the consequences in the second half. This isn't a video about a great time. It's a video about a poorly executed race, a bad tactical reading, and what you can learn when your initial plan doesn't match your body's actual condition that day. 🧪 IN THIS VIDEO: 0:00 Albacete 10K Introduction 1:08 Day's Protocol 4:20 Immediate Analysis 5:44 Data Analysis 10:34 Conclusion ℹ️ ABOUT THE CHANNEL: I work from 9 to 7. I have a family. I train almost every day. I'm not a professional athlete. I'm the one who does double sessions whenever possible, the one who trains early so the day doesn't eat me up, and the one who's spent years trying to run a little faster each time. Here I document that process. With data, real decisions, and what the numbers tell you when you look at them straight on. Marathon preparation, long-distance training, and everything in between. What works. What doesn't. And what I'm still learning. 🔗 LINKS: Visit my website → https://azanarunninglab.com/ Subscribe to the channel → / @azanarunninglab Strava → / strava Instagram → / azanarunninglab TikTok → / azanarunninglab Email → [email protected] This content is not a substitute for a coach.
