走行中の小田急線で訓練…車いす対応も　無差別刺傷事件から1年を前に

It's been almost a year since a man stabbed a passenger on a moving Odakyu Line train, injuring him with a knife. On August 5th, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and Odakyu Electric Railway conducted a joint drill simulating a random attack. The drill on that day was based on the scenario of two passengers on an Odakyu Line train traveling between Yoyogi-Uehara and Shinjuku stations who were unable to escape and were taken hostage. Police officers stormed into Shinjuku Station and apprehended the alleged perpetrators, and evacuation procedures for wheelchair-bound passengers were also confirmed. Mukaide Kazuo, head of the Shinjuku Police Station's Community Affairs Division, said, "This is actually our first wheelchair training exercise. We hope to use the lessons we learned from this exercise in other training exercises."
