Emergency vehicle footage and more on Facebook:   / einsatzfahrtenundso   Police discharged their firearms in the early evening of August 1, 2015, near a refugee shelter on Sebastianstrasse in Bonn-Endenich. Police were initially called to the shelter around 4:30 p.m. due to an assault. According to the preliminary investigation, a 23-year-old man had argued with an acquaintance and ultimately injured the 27-year-old with a large knife, injuring him in the arm and hand. The injured man was then taken to a hospital emergency room. When the police arrived, the 23-year-old perpetrator was on the second floor of the building. According to current information, he was still holding two large knives and moved toward the arriving officers. He eventually retreated to a kitchen area. After police officers had established a cordon both inside and outside the building, and the special forces alerted by the command center had arrived to carry out the arrest, the 23-year-old suddenly jumped out of a window into the building's forecourt at approximately 6:55 p.m. According to the initial investigation, he ran towards the officers at the cordon, brandishing two knives. The police officers initially tried unsuccessfully to contain the armed man by speaking to him clearly and using pepper spray to prevent further knife attacks. The officers then used their service weapons – the 23-year-old was shot multiple times, including in the shoulder and arm, and thus subdued. After receiving initial treatment at the scene, he was transported by ambulance to a hospital and is currently in stable condition. Following the completion of forensic investigations at the scene, the investigation into the incident, conducted in close coordination with the Bonn Public Prosecutor's Office, is ongoing. The investigating authorities are also examining whether the police officers' use of firearms constituted an assault offense. Feel free to link to any video.
