Today we spent a slow and meaningful day surrounded by nature, cooking by the waterfall, swimming in cool, refreshing water, and building a small outdoor bamboo kitchen using traditional methods. We made Middle Eastern–style shakshuka and bread with what we had on hand, prepared a simple fresh salad, and shared the experience with Hannah, learning more about the beautiful T’boli way of life. From traditional cooking techniques to small rituals for abundance, every moment reminded us how deeply connected food, culture, and nature are.
