SRSG Hennis-Plasschaert visit to Kocho, Sinjar

Kocho, Sinjar, Iraq, 03 August 2019 - The Special Representative for Iraq of the United Nations Secretary-General, Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, met local officials and survivors in Kocho village in Sinjar, visited an art exhibition depicting the suffering of the Yazidi community and stoped at a mass grave site. Her visit to Sinjar, on the fifth anniversary of ISIL’s atrocities against the Yazidis, is to highlight the plight of the stricken community and to call for urgent action to improve their lives and enable those who have fled to return home.
