Artist Corner | Francesco Clemente

Francesco Clemente's works are characterised by their experimentation with symbols, portraiture and the human figure. The Italian painter, who was born in Naples and later went on to live in India and New York, has an oeuvre that speaks volumes about his artistic collaborations with craftspeople, poets and visual artists from across the world. "There's a quote which says that you cannot see the circle if you don't step out of it. So to be the artist that I wanted to be, I had to step out of the circle and look back," he says. "I moved out of Naples because it was taking all my time." Here, watch the multimedia artist talk about his creative inspirations, what brought him to India, his process while creating art for 'Sangam/Confluence', and more. ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ผ๐—ธ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐˜๐—ผ '๐—ฆ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—บ/๐—–๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ณ๐—น๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ' ๐—ผ๐—ป https://nmacc.com/ *Free entry for children under 7, fashion & art students and senior citizens #NitaMukeshAmbaniCulturalCentre #SangamConfluence
