Der 996 ist FAST FERTIG...oder wird die Liste IMMER LÄNGER?

The Porsche 996 is almost finished... or so I thought. Only a few things remain on my to-do list: ➡️ Install the drive shafts ➡️ Install the brakes ➡️ Install the exhaust ➡️ Finish welding the wheel arches Sounds like a weekend's work. Reality is quite different. Because right now, a mistake I've repeatedly made with this project is becoming apparent: I've completed the exciting 90%... and left the annoying 10% for later. And suddenly, "installing the driveshaft" becomes: ➡️ Replacing the ABS rings ➡️ Disassembling the driveshafts ➡️ Removing 25-year-old grease ➡️ Replacing the boots ➡️ Cleaning the joints ➡️ Painting ➡️ Reassembling everything 💥 WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS EPISODE: 👉 Replacing the ABS rings 👉 Completely overhauling the driveshafts 👉 New grease & new boots for another 300,000 km? 👉 Making your own brake lines 👉 Special tools for flaring work put to the test 👉 More surprises on the final sprint to-do list 👉 Why the last 10% are often the hardest ⚠️ THE REAL FINAL SPRINT TRAP The closer a project gets to completion, the bigger the small tasks suddenly seem. Because behind every single item on the list are ten new tasks. And that's exactly what's currently slowing down this Porsche project. 😅 DIY REALITY ➡️ No lift ➡️ No professional workshop ➡️ Garage, floor, and improvisation ➡️ Constantly new problems ➡️ Still, onward And that's precisely why the final sprint often takes longer than the entire rest of the project. 🚗 THE GOAL The Porsche 996, bought at a bargain price and with over 300,000 km on the clock, is to be brought back to the road. With: ✔️ Overhauled mechanical components ✔️ Coilover suspension ✔️ Wider wheels ✔️ Rebuilt axles ✔️ New brake system But before the first test drive can take place, this to-do list finally needs to disappear. 💬 YOUR OPINION: Does this sound familiar? 👉 Did you tackle the interesting tasks first and keep putting off the annoying ones? 👉 What's the task in your project that you were least looking forward to?
