Today we got up bright and early for a very special experience at Encants Vells, one of Barcelona's most legendary flea markets. But we weren't alone; we were with @MarcFlotats, who has been professionally involved in buying and selling antiques for over 20 years and knows exactly what's worthwhile… and what isn't. The day started early, as it should, at Juan's churro shop, @ElxurreroBcn. We had breakfast there while we started talking about this world, how it really works, and everything you don't see from the outside. Then we got down to business. We entered Encants as if we were vendors, going through the loading area, among freight elevators, boxes, and all the real activity of the market. Nothing was staged; it was all just as it is. Once inside, we experienced the auctions from the inside, which is where everything really happens. It's fast-paced, chaotic, and very authentic. For those who don't know him, Marc has also participated in the La Sexta program "¿Tesoro o chatarra?" (Treasure or Junk?), so he's got the know-it-all skills... and it shows. During the video, we explore the flea market, looking at vintage posters, toys, retro pieces, and all sorts of objects with a story. We also try to buy a few things, although it's not always as easy as it seems.
