There's no shortage of content telling Gen X what we got wrong. This one's about a few things we got right. A lot of us picked up certain instincts just by growing up when we did: the kind of thing nobody taught on purpose and nobody thought to call a skill. The modern world doesn't really build these into people anymore, and in some cases it actively trains them out. They're easy to lose now, because so little in daily life asks for them. But they haven't stopped mattering. If anything, some of them are worth more today than they were back then.
