CAF Inspectors Impressed by Akii-Bua Stadium's New Roof and Modern Exterior Ahead of AFCON 2027

Today, ZEF POST brings you the latest update on the Akii-Bua Olympic Stadium in Lira as CAF officials, alongside the Local Organizing Committee and the National Council of Sports, inspected the facility to assess Uganda's readiness for the AFCON 2027 tournament. The inspection team also visited Hoima City Stadium, Kabalega International Airport, and Gulu Airport as part of a broader evaluation of the country's sports and transport infrastructure. Construction at Akii-Bua Stadium has already surpassed the 50% completion mark, with SAMCO National Construction Company pushing ahead of schedule. The stadium is taking shape with a state-of-the-art steel space frame system, modern geometric aluminum facade panels, and an advanced roof structure engineered by Polarkon. Once completed, the 20,000-seat stadium will feature a world-class design, enhanced ventilation, weather protection, and modern spectator facilities, making it one of Uganda's flagship venues for AFCON 2027.
