Looking through the Gap Technique - Houston Texas 2019 - South Coast Welding Academy - Weldtube

I am in Houston Texas at South Coast Welding Academy doing the Looking through the Gap technique, which was taught to me in 2010/2011 by my Piping Superintendent "Mike Ho" who was a Welder from Brunei 🇧🇳 or, atleast he took training from Brunei Institute. Got his B Pressure ticket in 1980. When I worked at the JV Drivers Fab shop, you either welded using this technique or you didn't weld there. Mike taught me on 18" carbon Piping using 5/32 filler metal, with a slight 1/16 land. since then, I have showing as many Welders I could this particular technique because it has made me better, and in the very beginning helped me learn Inconel better.
