Hunt JUMBO TANCHO and KOHAKU KOI FISH at one of THE BEST KOI BREEDERS Today, right after returning to Niigata for the highly anticipated Tosai season, I made my first stop at the famous Marudo Koi Farm to handpick some top-quality JUMBO Gosanke—specifically Kohaku, Tancho, and Sanke. Marudo is not just any breeder; it’s one of the largest and most respected Koi farms in Japan. The owner, Mr. Hirasawa, also happens to be the current president of Shinkokai, the All Japan Nishikigoi Promotion Association. It was truly a successful day of hunting for high-grade Japanese Tosai. At Quhaku Koi Farm, we managed to secure a strong selection of outstanding JUMBO Kohaku, Tancho, and Sanke. These young Koi will now be raised in our mud ponds for several months, where they’ll grow beautifully and are expected to reach sizes between 45 to 60cm.
