Nevada Northern Railway National Historic Landmark

Our travels into Nevada led us to Ely so that we could visit the historic Nevada Northern Railway! This rail yard and railway is a hidden gem and one that was amazingly saved and preserved so that they could carry on this town's industrial heritage and share it with the rest of the world. They have done such an amazing job at restoring much of the trains, steam locomotives, buildings and equipment to keep this an operating railway providing train rides and tours for all visitors. We enjoyed our train ride being pulled by Engine No. 93 that led us on a 90 minute ride into the mountains and learning about the areas mining history.
