The very first radio-optical telescope in the world, also known as ROT-54 / 2.6, is located 40 kilometers from Yerevan (Armenia) in the village of Orgov. It was built in 1985. The telescope was created by a brilliant scientist, academician - Paris Heruni. Before the construction of the telescope, he headed the Research Institute for Antenna Measurements, which was located right in the same place. Antennas from all over the Soviet Union were brought to the institute for study. Unfortunately, it is not working now, since 2012 the telescope has been mothballed. Arevik Sargsyan, the head of the Heruni Joint Space Center project, believes that the telescope needs to be restored as soon as possible so that it continues to benefit science and the country.
