Alain Moreau | International ME/CFS Conference 2026: Signals in the Flow

Prof. Dr. Alain Moreau talked about biomarkers for vascular and neurovascular dysfunction in ME/CFS. His group used digital technologies and omics analyses to look for biological signals that may enable biomarkers. They identified three cognitive trajectories in ME/CFS patients, matching them with haptoglobin 1-1 (Hp1-1), Hp2-2 and Hp2-1. Promising drugs may be those reducing hemolysis, improving microcirculation, restoring red blood cell energy metabolism, and attenuating oxidative stress.
