One of its most iconic sights is the giant outdoor golden-copper Guanyin statue, known as the Grand Ruyi Guanyin of China. Facing south and backed by mountains on three sides, the statue stands an impressive 66.99 meters tall — equivalent to a 20+ story building — and is absolutely awe-inspiring. Visitors can climb the stairs up to the platform at the base of the statue, where they can even touch the Buddha’s feet and experience the statue’s sacred presence. From here, you can also enjoy breathtaking views of the misty waves of Lake Tai and the surrounding scenic mountains.
