British Rail Scotrail-Newton on Ayr (inc Cl 26) Jan 1990
A Winter BR vid now from Scotland. Newton-on-Ayr (one stop before Ayr) was by the BR loco Depot and a freight yard. At the time there was still a lot of coal traffic around and we see class 26s at work on these as well as a pair of 37s and a 47 on other traffic. The local passenger service is worked by class 318 EMUs, some of which run non stop through Newton. It was a cold, wet & windy day which is quite clear from the rain that sometimes landed on the camera lense!
