He has worked in cultural journalism for almost 40 years. He has written nine books, including biographies of Zé do Caixão, Sepultura, João Gordo, Marcelo Nova, and Nelson Ned. He has directed or written films and series such as “Sullivan e Massadas: Retratos e Canções”, “O Rei da TV”, “Hit Parade”, “Notícias Populares”, “História Secreta do Pop Brasileiro”, and “Zé do Caixão”. He won the Troféu Jabuti, the most prestigious award in Brazilian literature, in 1992 for his book “Barulho”. He also won the Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival (USA) for the documentary "Maldito", about Zé do Caixão.
