MCT Ride-On 2009 Gillig Advantage Hybrid #5335 Route 40

Seen here on a nice evening daylight savings ride on a beautiful retiring 2009 Gillig Advantage Hybrid #5335 along the new Route 40 that was introduced on June 29th, 2025. Ride-On is currently retiring the 2009 Gillig Advantage Hybrids due to incoming order of the brand new 2024-2025 Gillig Advantage Low Floor Plus EVs. As of November 2025, only 5319, 5333 and 5335 are currently on the only 2009 Gillig Hybrids that remain in service due to the EVs entering service. Be sure to get your photos and videos as these buses will be gone very soon. Update: This bus is now retired, being the last active 2009 Gillig Hybrid at Ride-On on November 22nd 2025. Ride-On introduced the brand new Route 40 which goes from Wheaton Station to Rockville to replace WMATA Routes Q2, Q4 and Q6 after those lines were cut due to the Metrobus Better Bus Network.
