Fettah Tamince, Chairman of the Board of Rixos Hotels Group, stated that they have 14,000 employees in 12 countries worldwide, half of whom are in Türkiye, and that they have not laid off any of them during this crisis. Tamince explained that they will offer a different concept to their guests after the coronavirus crisis, and that guests who request fruit will be able to pick it from the branch in the hotel garden. He also expressed hope for the certification project announced by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. Fettah Tamince, CEO of the Rixos Group, one of Türkiye's chain hotels, assessed the coronavirus pandemic. Explaining that this is the first time they have faced such a major crisis, Tamince said that when it comes to health, not everyone is speaking out and making no comments. Tamince noted that they are adhering to precautionary measures against the virus outbreak, saying, "Like everyone else in the world, we have closed all our facilities. We have various operations in 12 countries, and almost all of our operations have come to a halt. Tourism has been the most affected sector at this stage. We expect this period to pass, but we are facing a major crisis." Tamince, noting that they operate in accommodation, amusement parks, construction, and real estate development, stated that construction work is continuing in some form, but that all shopping malls, amusement parks, and hotels have been closed. Fettah Tamince, noting that workers, employees, and managers are the cogs of a system, said, "The biggest reason our sector continues to thrive is our employees. Without them, we have no chance of carrying ourselves into the future. We have come through this together with them. Of course, we will overcome this situation together and raise the bar. We have not laid off anyone during this period, and we have no plans to do so. We have taken care of our employees at this stage." Tamince also noted that they gave their employees opportunities to develop themselves during this period and offered various educational support options. He explained that employees who speak one foreign language were given the opportunity to learn a second. We prioritize families and children in our facilities. We're thinking about how we can educate children while entertaining them. We're discussing how we can improve the physical and mental well-being of our elderly. We want softer, more luxurious buildings instead of more luxurious granite. We're working on how we can integrate healthier eating, drinking, and meditation. People are talking about how clean and good the air is in our rooms in the new world. We could dedicate a large portion of our hotels to growing fruits and vegetables. This is what we're working on. The chef will prepare and serve orange juice straight from the tree.
