“Choirs & Places Where they Sing” 8: St Michael’s Tenbury 1967 (Lucian Nethsingha)
BBC radio broadcast, 8 October 1967, featuring the choir of St Michael’s Tenbury, directed by Lucian Nethsingha and introduced by Sir John Betjeman. This was the eighth edition of an 11-part weekly series intended as a follow-on to an earlier series entitled “Britain’s Cathedrals and their Music”, which had focused on cathedrals alone. “Choirs and Places” featured mainly non-cathedral choirs. Lord, for thy tender mercie’s sake (Anon) 3. Laudibus in sanctis (William Byrd) 4. Wir glauben all’ an einen Gott (Joh. Seb. Bach) 5. My soul there is a country (C H H Parry) 6.
